When looking for a dental office to serve the dental needs of your family, it is important to know the dental services that are available in our office and to also know that you are working with the right team for your family’s oral health needs.
We are accepting new patients and would like you to know a little about us and our services so that you have the information you need to make the right decision for you and your family.
We are TruDentistry of Tigard. We have been practicing in the Tigard-Beaverton area for over 30 years now. The dental office was first established by Dr. Susan Weinberg who followed in her father’s footsteps. He was a dentist who practiced in Southern California.
Dr. Susan Weinberg met TT Nguyen a few years back when TT was just finishing up dental school. TT was offered an opportunity to come and work in the dental office alongside Dr. Weinberg and the chemistry between them made for a very successful collaboration. A few years after Dr. Nguyen joined the team, she was offered the opportunity to purchase the dental practice from Dr. Weinberg.
Since then, the two dentists have worked side by side to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere and at the same time provide the highest quality dental care with help of state-of-the-art dental equipment. Together their talents bring many oral-related services to their patients. This includes preventative maintenance, restorative dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry.
TruDentistry has made many investments in state-of-the-art dental equipment to create better oral care for their patients and allows them to offer dental services with great accuracy and comfort.
Our dental services include these different types of treatments:
Invisalign
Invisalign is a series of aligners that are used incrementally, over a period to move the teeth to a desired look. This is done with Smart Track technology that has revolutionized teeth straightening.
Zoom Teeth Whitening
The Zoom system is by far the best teeth-whitening system on the market and is one of our most popular dental services. It is fast, and the results are long-lasting. This is an in-office treatment, but it only takes about an hour. The treatment comes with a take-home kit so that you can touch up whenever you like from the comfort of your own home.
It is proven to be safe and very effective for people with sensitive teeth.
Veneers
Veneers are porcelain overlays that can greatly improve the look of your smile. They are perfect for aging or yellowed teeth but can also be applied for various other reasons as well. The color of the veneers can be customized for a very natural look. The treatment can be completed in just a few visits.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are the best way to fill in the gap of missing teeth. Although the implant starts with an oral surgeon, our team can then complete the process. We use our state-of-the-art scanner to create a crown that fits perfectly with the abutment and the surrounding teeth. This gives the patient the closest thing possible to a real tooth. The results are life-changing, and it is no longer necessary to live with the misery of missing teeth.
Zirconia Crowns
When we claim as a dental office to be of the highest quality, we are not only referring to our ongoing dental education and our investments in state-of-the-art equipment but also to the materials that we use in our practice. Zirconia is the highest-quality dental crown material that there is on the market. We simply won’t use any other material. Zirconia is durable and can last for a very long time. They can be colored-matched to fit right in and they are extremely strong.
For people that don’t want implants, bridges are common dental procedures for missing teeth. We will only use zirconia for our crowns and bridges best it is simply the most durable product on the market. We work with a local dental lab rather than outsourcing to China. Our state-of-the-art iTero scanner sets everything up for success from the start. The scanner can accurately provide a 3D image for our dental lab. This insures a perfect fit.
Composite Dental Filling
Dental fillings are used to replace missing tooth structures resulting from cavities. It has been stated before and here is yet another example of our commitment to the highest standards. Not all dental fillings are created equal. For us at TruDentistry, our commitment to quality is evident in the type of fillings we provide. That is why we use tooth-colored composite material for the best cosmetic look and for the strength of the filling.
Dental Sealants
At TruDentistry, we like to focus on preventive dentistry for the well-being of our patients. That is why we encourage parents to arm their children with the protection that dental sealants provide. This is a very simple and painless process that protects children’s teeth from exposure to decay by sealing off the pits and groves and adding a protective barrier. Typically, the sealant is painted onto the back teeth which children often don’t fully reach when brushing. This barrier prevents food particles from sticking to the cavity-prone groves and preventing decay.
Mouth Guard
Teeth grinding as you sleep is a common problem. In fact, studies have shown that people who grind their teeth while asleep can have up to 80 times more normal wear on their teeth than those people who don’t. Those that do grind their teeth can wake up with headaches, earaches,
and toothaches. They can also experience sore jaw joints and facial muscles. But it is an easy problem to fix. We can use our state-of-the-art scanner to create a mouthguard that will have an absolute, custom-made, perfect fit. The mouth guard is made from a very soft material, and it slips over on the jaw to prevent direct contact with the opposing teeth. Our scanner makes this process very simple and very comfortable.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are not just for children. Adults can also greatly benefit from fluoride treatments. However, the earlier a child is exposed to a fluoride treatment the better their chances of preventing cavities. The treatment will not reverse cavities, but it does go a long way in strengthening the outer surfaces of the teeth which can help in preventing the enamel erosion that is the start of the decay process.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening is very important. It only takes a few minutes and is entirely painless. We use a scanner that is dedicated to oral cancer screening. The VelScope VX is a remarkable system that helps us see abnormalities in the mucosal tissues of the lips, mouth, and upper throat area. Early detection is the key to any form of cancer, and we encourage our patients to be screened.
Routine Hygiene and Exam
The mission of our dental office is to focus on preventive care first and foremost. That is why we, along with the American Dental Society recommend bi-yearly dental exams and prophylaxis cleanings with your dental hygienist. These routine visits allow us to take care of your gingival health and to make sure your teeth are without decay.
Dental Extractions
We sincerely hope you will never need a dental extraction but if you do, you will be in very capable hands. Tooth removal may be required if there is decay, trauma, or even teeth crowding. Before removing any teeth, it is important to know what medications you might be taking and what types of diseases you might have. We need to make sure that everything is stable before we perform the extraction. With almost any extraction there will be a small amount of bleeding and it will be important to follow any instructions that we provide post-extraction.
Dental Emergencies
Dental emergencies can come up at the most inconvenient times and we are here to help. Our first goal is to get you out of pain. There are many conditions that can create a dental emergency such as a chipped or broken tooth, a lost filling, a lost crown, and an abscess just to name the most common ones. Do not suffer, call us right away so that we can relieve the pain and get you on the road to recovery.
Scaling Root Planing and Periodontal Maintenance
There are cases in which the gingival health needs a little bit more TLC. Patients who have bone loss and deeper pockets will require more attention and care, in which case scaling and root planing come into play. At the appointment, the hygienist will be removing bacteria from root surfaces that are deeper to prevent periodontal abscesses which could compromise the stability of your teeth. Following scaling and root planing are periodontal maintenance appointments, these are routine hygiene cleanings designed for the maintenance of deeper pockets. They will help prevent the increase in pocket depth and make sure that the pockets are free of bacteria. Our goal is to get your gum health back to its optimal stage and maintain it.
Our dental services are all performed in our dental office in the Tigard Medical Mall. We work in a very sterile environment and you can rest assured that your visit with us will be safe and comfortable.
