How Does Invisalign Work

How does Invisalign work?

The Invisalign treatment process starts with a consultation with Dr. Nguyen.   She will be able to evaluate your situation and determine if Invisalign is the right treatment for you.

If so, she will take digital impressions of your teeth using our high-tech scanner. These impressions will be used to create a 3D image of your teeth, which will allow Dr. Nguyen to develop a personalized treatment plan for your specific needs.

Once the treatment plan has been established from the scans, a series of custom-made aligners will be created specifically for your issues. Then you simply wear each set of aligners for approximately two weeks before switching to the next set. Each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. The length of the treatment will depend on the complexity of your case, but most treatments take around 12 to 18 months.

What are the Benefits of Invisalign?

  • Invisalign offers several benefits over traditional braces. The most obvious benefit is that they are virtually invisible, which makes them an ideal treatment option for adults who do not want to wear metal braces.
  • The aligners are also removable, which means you can take them out while eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. This makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment.
  • These aligners are also more comfortable than traditional braces because they are made of a smooth, flexible plastic material. They do not have any wires or brackets that can irritate your mouth.
  • Finally, Invisalign aligners require fewer office visits than traditional braces because there are no adjustments to be made. You will only need to visit us every six to eight weeks to monitor your progress.

Is Invisalign Right for Me?

Invisalign is an excellent treatment option for anyone who wants to improve the appearance of their smile. However, it may not be suitable for everyone. The treatment is best suited for mild to moderate orthodontic issues such as crooked, crowded, or misaligned teeth. If you have severe orthodontic issues, This treatment may not be right for you.

Invisalign may also not be suitable for people who have a habit of clenching or grinding their teeth. This can damage the aligners and affect the treatment outcome. Additionally, if you are not committed to wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, the treatment may not be as effective.

The good news is that Dr. Nguyen has been through the Invisalign treatment process herself, and knows firsthand how effective this treatment can be.  If you think that Invisalign could be a smart option for you, schedule your consultation today.
