Tigard is a city located in Washington County, Oregon. As of the 2007 census, it was the 12th largest city in the state. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area and is located south of Beaverton and north of Tualatin. It is home to a large university and many businesses. It has a population of around 28,000 people.

These two districts would later become part of Oregon’s original counties. The name Tigard was chosen after Wilson McClendon Tigard, a pioneer who organized the first school in the area. The city was incorporated as a city in 1961.
The city grew rapidly. In the early 1960s, Tigard’s population was just over 2,000. By 1970, the population had tripled to over 6,300. By 1980, the population was over 18,000 and continued to grow quickly. This growth continued for the next two decades. The growth of the city led to a number of improvements to the city’s commercial district.
The city is home to a variety of restaurants, including Richard’s Deli, Oswego Grill, and the Symposium Coffee Shop. Tigard also has a large school district, which puts a high priority on education. The history of Tigard dates back to the 1850s when the town was first settled by several families. In 1852, Wilson M. Tigard arrived in the area and established a land claim near the Richardsons. The area was then known as Butte. It was named after Tigard’s family.
