Tigard is a city located in Washington County, Oregon. It is the 12th largest city in the state. It was incorporated in 1961 and is part of the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area. It is located south of Beaverton and north of Tualatin. In 2007, the city was home to nearly 28,000 people.

Tigard enjoys a temperate climate, with 41 inches of rain annually. The summers are cool, with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to the low-80s. Winters are milder with lows in the low 30s. Despite the large size of Tigard, residents still enjoy a small-town feel. Schools in the area are good, and there are plenty of jobs available in the city.

By 1923, the city published its first newspaper.

The city has many attractions and places to go. The Broadway Rose Theatre Company produces professional Broadway-style musicals, and it has won several awards for its outstanding productions. Tigard’s newest attraction, iFly, is an indoor skydiving venue that is fun for everyone. Public transportation in the city is excellent and the downtown area has pedestrian and bike paths that run through it.

Tigard is located in southeastern Washington County. The city is home to three high schools – Tigard High School, Tigard Middle School, and Tualatin Middle School. Tigard is ranked #12,836 in the National Rankings, which ranks schools on graduation rates, student performance on state-required tests, and college preparation.

The town grew rapidly in the late 1880s, thanks to a large influx of German settlers who settled in the area. They established the town’s first school and later built a general store and meeting hall. These early buildings served the growing town as a polling place and fraternal organizations.

Students who are considering attending college in the area can find a number of excellent opportunities. The area is close to Portland and is home to Lewis & Clark College, one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country.
