Visit the Tualatin Heritage Center in Tigard, Oregon, to learn about the area’s past. The oldest surviving church in the region is located in the building, which is not where it originally stood. The first floor of the building was built on pillars and was considered a floating floor. Prohibition forced people to move the building underground, but they still preserved the pillars and used them as the foundation for a pool hall. The Tualatin Heritage Center features exhibits, collections, and events that celebrate the history of the city.
